Zhejiang FTZ completes first comprehensive maritime service order in China

Updated : 2019-12-23 (chinadaily.com.cn)

Yangtze Brightness, a bulk cargo ship registered in the Marshall Islands, received comprehensive maritime services in Zhoushan, Zhejiang province on Dec 12.

The services, including food and material supplies as well as bunker fuel oil refill, cost $200,000 and were provided by enterprises at the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ), with the help of several local government departments including Zhoushan Customs, the Zhoushan municipal administration of maritime safety, and the Zhoushan immigration inspection station.

This is the first time that China has provided comprehensive maritime services, said local authorities.

Such services can save time and money for ships that pass the city.

According to official data, Zhoushan, an archipelago-based prefecture-level city, has abundant coastal resources and can receive over 100,000 international navigation ships each year.

In recent years, the zone has been dedicated to the construction and development of an international bunker fuel oil supply center and the improvement of maritime services.

Moving forward, Zhejiang FTZ will continue promoting comprehensive maritime services, enhancing customs clearance efficiency, and building itself into an internationally competitive base providing maritime services.
