Updated : 2019-12-18 (chinadaily.com.cn)

The Dinghai Mediation Center for Disputes and Conflicts was officially launched in Dinghai district, Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province on Dec 15.

The center covers an area of approximately 2,300 square meters and consists of several different areas focusing on public legal services, petitioning, visitor reception, information disclosure, data analysis and social organization management, among other things.

The center also has a designated area for conflict and dispute resolution focusing on the mediation of traffic, marital, and medical disputes, to name a few. If conflicts and disputes cannot be solved, staff members in charge of the zone will try their best to help visitors, said a high-ranking official at the district's committee for political and legal affairs.

In the past, locals in the district had to go to different government departments for dispute and conflict mediation. The new center was established in order to eliminate this unnecessary nuisance, added the official.

According to the requirements issued by the district’s committee for political and legal affairs, officials from the district's commission for discipline inspection, bureau of civil affairs, bureau of human resources and social security and other related government departments will come to the center regularly help deal with disputes and conflicts.
