The city of Zhoushan has heard a total of 439 illegal commercial cases this year, including several that involved trademark infringement and counterfeit goods, according to recent official data.

The amount of money involved in the cases amounted to more than 1.6 million yuan ($229,090).

The cases were heard by a working group established by government departments in charge of market supervision, public security, commerce, and customs clearance for the purpose of fighting illegal commercial activities.

Since the beginning of this year, the working group has carried out a number of law enforcement actions to deal with illegal commercial activities and improve local business environment.

The group has also established a system for reporting illegal commercial activities and has built 62 demonstration stations to protect business secrets for local enterprises, six of which have won provincial titles.
