Dinghai district in Zhoushan, Zhejiang province was recently granted a national title for the quality and safety of its agricultural products by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China.

In March 2017, the district was named as a pilot area for the improvement of the quality and safety of agricultural products.

Since then, the district has been striving to build a strong supervision and management system, even developing a mobile supervision app and an evaluation system for local enterprises engaged in the production and marketing of agricultural products.

For the past several years, the agricultural industries in the district have been dominated by rice, tea, vegetables, fruits and animal products.

The district has been promoting a more environmentally friendly form of agricultural production and has issued a series of standardized regulations for major agricultural products.

Dinghai's efforts have been paying off, as the district has experienced vast improvements in the quality and safety of its agricultural products in recent years.
