Zhoushan launched an enclave for talent and project introduction on Nov 15 in Xiaoshan district, Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province.

This is Zhoushan's first enclave of its kind and expected to become a key platform for cross-regional cooperation in talent cultivation, project introduction and the commercialization of technologies, according to the talent office of the city's municipal Party committee.

The enclave will introduce talents and projects focusing on marine electronic information, petrochemicals, digital economy, new materials, and artificial intelligence, among other areas.

On the same day, several projects funded by Zhoushan-based and Shanghai-based enterprises were launched in the enclave.

"Our company decided to build a research and development center here because Hangzhou has a great number of high-end talents and projects, which can make it easier for us to commercialize our technologies," said Shao Hanqi, general manager of Zhejiang Casnovo Materials Co Ltd.

Ma Meng, a high-ranking employee at a Shanghai-based biotechnology company, said the company plans to establish a project focusing on the identification of fishes in the enclave and seek opportunities for further cooperation with Zhoushan enterprises.

Officials in Zhoushan said that the city plans to build more such enclaves in domestic and foreign cities to attract more talents and projects and drive the development of local economy.
