Recent official data showed that Zhoushan's delegation signed letters of intent worth $86.5 million and contracts worth $28.8 million during the 2019 China Fisheries & Seafood Expo in Qingdao, Shandong province.

Officials said that the delegation is the largest to attend the expo this year. It consisted of 40 Zhoushan-based enterprises and received over 11,400 clients over the course of the event.

The organizing committee for the expo arranged 28 special booths for the delegation, each covering an area of over 36 square meters.

The expo was held by the Specialized Sub-council of Agriculture in the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade in order to boost exchange between enterprises in the fishery and seafood industry.

This year's expo attracted more than 35,000 industry professionals from around the world to forge relationships and expand business ties.

According to local authorities, the Zhoushan municipal government subsidized 80 percent of the cost of the exhibition fees for the delegation in order to reduce the burden on local enterprises.

Next year's expo is scheduled for Oct 28-30, 2020. Zhoushan's delegation has booked booths covering an area of 1,558 square meters in total.
