Wang Yuxin, a resident of Putuo district, Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province was recently able to pay for her daughter's basic medical insurance through a mobile app in no more than a minute.

"In the past, my daughter had to take money to school to pay for insurance. Thanks to the app, medical insurance payments have become safer and more convenient," said Wang.

The app was jointly issued by the Zhejiang Rural Credit Cooperative Union and the district's bureau of taxation.

The app can not only save time for people buying insurance, but also enhance the bureau's efficiency, said Zhuang Xudong, an official in the bureau.

Recent official data showed that about 35,000 locals used the app to buy basic medical insurance for their children in the first 10 months of this year.
