Members of the Zhoushan Daily think tank visited Panzhi Island – the first stop on a marine culture discovery tour – on Nov 2 in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province.

They visited many tourist attractions and listened to stories from locals in order to learn more about the history and culture of the island.

Panzhi Island, which covers a land area of 3.8 square kilometers, is a small island with beautiful scenery.

The tour was jointly organized by Zhoushan Daily and Zhejiang International Maritime College, a vocational school offering maritime related disciplines.

According to the organizers, the tour is intended to help the newspaper write better stories about the city and spread local marine culture.

Zhoushan Daily, which was established in March 1955, is a comprehensive Chinese-language daily newspaper focusing on the economic and social development of the city and the lives of locals.

The think tank now has over 30 outstanding local talents, scholars and experts.
