Zhoushan sees robust growth in first three quarters

The gross domestic product of Zhoushan, Zhejiang province grew by 8.6 percent in the first three quarters of 2019 comparing to the last year, ranking first in the province and a whole 2 percentage points higher than the provincial average.

The data was released by the city's bureau of statistics on Oct 24.

In addition, the per capita disposable income of urban residents was nearly 48,000 yuan ($6,800), up 8.4 percent year-on-year, while that of rural residents was over 26,600 yuan, up 8.8 percent year-on-year.

The year-on-year increase of the added value of local industrial companies above the designated scale (companies with annual revenue of above 20 million yuan) was 33 percent, 27.2 percentage points higher than the provincial average.

Petrochemical companies above the designated scale saw rapid growth in the period.

The total value of foreign trade reached over 88 billion yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 10.7 percent.

Oil products were the most popular during the period, accounting for 55.4 percent of total imports and 35.2 percent of total exports.

In the first three quarters, a total of 2,238 new companies engaged in the oil product industry were registered in the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone in Zhoushan, bringing with them nearly 75 billion yuan in capital.
