Dinghai district in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province was recently selected among the list of top 100 districts in China in terms of comprehensive strength, ranking 75th, according to local authorities.
The list has been issued annually since 2005. Five aspects are taken into consideration when formulating the list – economic development, livelihood improvement, environmental protection, urban-rural integration and government service efficiency.
This year, 18 of the top 100 districts were from East China's Zhejiang province.
Dinghai has ranked on the list for several consecutive years now thanks to its effort to maintain a smooth economic growth in a more sustainable way, said officials.
In the second half of 2019, the gross domestic product of the district amounted to nearly 28 billion yuan ($3.95 billion), with a year-on-year increase of 7 percent. The added value of primary, secondary and tertiary industries reached 495 million yuan, 9.98 billion yuan and 17.48 million yuan respectively.
The per capita disposable income of all residents in the district increased to 30,530 yuan, up 8.8 percent year-on-year. The figures for urban and rural residents were 36,010 yuan and 18,297 yuan respectively.
