A new academician workstation was jointly launched by Wu Xinhang, general manager of Zhejiang Kexin Heavy Industry Co and Xue Qunji, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, on Oct 16 in Zhoushan.

The two sides also announced the establishment of an innovation lab and a research institute at the workstation's launch ceremony.

Zhejiang Kexin Heavy Industry Co, located in an industrial park in Dinghai district, is a national high-tech enterprise engaged in the treatment of metal surfaces, coating of pipes and metal parts, and corrosion control, among other things.

The company has participated in several major projects, including the construction of a 300,000-metric-ton oil product dock in Ningbo-Zhoushan Port as well as a major highway in the port.

Wu Xinhang said that the company has been dedicated to introducing high-end talents and driving technological innovation since its establishment.

The workstation will boost the company's technical capabilities in bridge construction and other areas, Wu added.

The workstation can not only help with the practical application of technologies, but also provide suggestions on the development of the enterprise, said Xue Qunji.

Xue is a well-known expert in special lubricating materials in China. He became an academician at the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 1997.
