Putuo district in Zhoushan recently set up a 24-hour self-service tax handling station in Putuo Rural Commercial Bank.

The station, which was jointly built by Putuo's tax bureau and the bank, is the first of its kind in the district.

There are three self-service machines at the station, one of which is for tax handling. The other two can be used to authenticate or apply for invoices.

Taxpayers can complete tax procedures by themselves by following the instructions posted on the machine.

The machines are capable of handling the basic tax-related needs of taxpayers and save on labor costs, said Lin Jin, an official from the bureau in charge of tax services.

Lin added that the bureau will set up more self-service stations around the district to better serve taxpayers.
