Zhoushan received nearly 1.03 million tourists and brought in tourism revenue of 1.33 billion yuan ($186.23 million) during China's National Day holiday, according to official data released on Oct 7.

Thanks to Zhoushan's all-for-one tourism policy, many local scenic spots such as Mount Putuo received more visitors than ever, said local authorities.

All-for-one tourism refers to the integration of tourism resources with other industries, including the hospitality industry and cultural and creative industry, in order to promote the transformation and drive the development of tourist destinations.

Personal car has become the favored way to travel among Zhoushan tourists due to the city's improved traffic conditions, said an official from Zhoushan Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Film, Television, Tourism and Sports.

The official added that over 85 percent of tourists drove to the city themselves during the National Day holiday, and over 85 percent of those entering the city came for the purpose of travel.

In addition, the total traffic volume of the Zhoushan Sea-crossing Bridge reached 321,600 by the end of the holiday, with a peak daily volume of 68,900.

Zhoushan Putuoshan Airport handled 25,266 passengers during the holiday, with a year-on-year increase of 20 percent.
