A new ship route connecting Mount Putuo and Daishan county in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province was put into trial operation on Oct 4.

According to local authorities, in the past Daishan's residents had to travel to Mount Putuo by ship at 6:00 am every Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday because there was only one round-trip liner available, but thanks to the new route, residents now have more choices.

There are two ships operating on the route. They will start from Qushan town, stop at Zhuyu Island, arrive at Mount Putuo, and return the same way every day, said a local official.

The official added that this new route makes things much easier for local residents, allowing them to travel to Mount Putuo and get back within a single day and saving time and money for tourists.
