The 2019 Daishan Island International Kite Festival was staged with fanfare in Daishan county, Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province on Sept 20.

Representatives from 83 international and local kite teams showed off their own styles to spectators at the opening ceremony of the festival.

The event combined kites with cultural and artistic elements including music and dance, bringing enthusiasts a visual feast with the combination of kites and art.

Following the ceremony there was an indoor stunt kite competition, the organizers said.

Kite flying exponents from home and abroad presented a variety of flying programs, including quad line stunts.

Adding to the fun, two enthusiasts from Zhoushan showed off their local kite flying skills.
