Zhoushan will hold a series of activities to celebrate the second Farmer's Harvest Festival in Putuo district on Sept 22, the autumnal equinox in 2019.

The festival was marked for the first time in 2018, to welcome the harvest season and honor agricultural workers.

This year's activities will showcase the great changes in Zhoushan's countryside and on the islands over the past 70 years, the happy lives of its fishermen and farmers and the elegant presence of the city in the new era, officials said.

The activities will feature activities about intangible cultural heritage, organizers said.

The main stage is set near a threshing ground in order to highlight the theme of the festival – the harvest – and accommodate more spectators.

There will be different kinds of performances, including singing, dancing, a fashion show for the Chinese traditional dress, the qipao and a performance of the pipa, or Chinese lute.

In addition, some themed programs will be presented in order to express local people's patriotic feelings and create a multidirectional tableau in celebration of farmers' harvest.
