Liuheng town in Zhoushan in eastern Zhejiang province, held a promotional activity to attract investment on Sept 16.

The activity, in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, was broadcast live to the public via the 5G network. Nearly 5 million netizens throughout the nation watched the livestream.

The activity showcased the achievements that the town has made over the past seven decades in the form of songs, dances, comedy shows and other art forms.

Liuheng has been working tirelessly to attract investment in recent years and has made great progress, officials said.

A project for constructing a liquefied natural gas importing terminal in the town will be signed in the upcoming International Petroleum and Natural Gas Enterprises Conference in October. This is the town's largest single investment, according to officials.

The town also has the city's largest oil sludge treatment project and the province's first 5G-powered shipbuilding project. It signed two projects worth a combined 2.35 billion yuan ($331 million) at the past 2019 International Islands Tourism Conference on Aug 28-30.

Another 31 projects are under negotiation, according to local authorities.

The town will continue to strengthen its shipbuilding activities and ship repairs of foreign vessels in the future, accelerate the construction of the LNG terminal and improve port logistics for bulk commodities such as coal and iron ore, the local authorities added.
