Zhoushan will hold a festival in celebration of the fishing harvest at the city's national oceanic fishery base from Sept 19 to 22.

The opening ceremony of the festival will be held on Sept 19. At the ceremony, local fishermen will sing and dance to the tune of drums and express their gratitude to the sea and harvest, said local authorities.

A promotional video showcasing the development of the city's fishing industry will be displayed, and a squid exchange center and a provincial agricultural product trade center will be launched.

An exchange exhibition will be held at an exhibition hall in the base during the festival, with over 150 enterprises invited to exhibit their products, sell high-quality seafood to local residents and passengers with up to 30 percent discounts, and provide fresh food delivery services, said officials.

In addition, a seafood festival will be held allowing passengers to taste local and world famous seafood. There will also be a cultural and innovative product exhibition, showing the city's featured artworks to visitors.

At the closing ceremony on Sept 22, singers and bands will express their best wishes for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
