The Putuo International Health Industry Center officially opened on Sept 2 in Putuo district, Zhoushan.

The center, which was announced in March 2018, covers an area of 1.33 hectares and will serve as an important platform for developing the local health industry. It will primarily focus on attracting enterprises engaged in cell technology, high-end health management, and a number of related areas.

Thirty-six companies have set up bases in the center, including R&S Co, a Shanghai-based biology company, and Jieninggang Co, a local enterprise focusing on immunotherapy for tumors.

According to Luo Weifeng, chairman of R&S, the company's Putuo base will engage in clinical medicine testing, medical technology, and medicine development, among other things.

Jieninggang Co plans to establish a high-end platform equipped with cell and oncotherapy technologies, said Chen Jie, chairman of the company.

In the future, the center will focus on developing intelligent health, medical exhibition, and other industries, said local authorities.

In addition, a talent introduction project was launched at the opening ceremony of the center in order to cultivate high-level personnel and drive the development of the local health industry.
