Two Libyan-registered 300,000-ton oil tankers, SYFNOS and NEPTUN, arrived at two different docks in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province on Aug 12.
SYFNOS unloaded 248,207 metric tons of Oman crude oil at the Zhoushan Port, while NEPTUN brought 272,193 tons of Saudi Arabia light crude to the port, according to Zhoushan Customs.
The Zhoushan Port, which is under the jurisdiction of the Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, is located in the Zhoushan Islands. It is an important node of the transportation network that covers the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region.
In recent years, the port has gradually grown into a crucial import and transit port of oil products and raw materials in the YRD region.
According to statistics from Zhoushan Customs, the imported oil products in the port totaled 21.34 million tons, up 42.7 percent year-on-year, with a total value of $68.9 billion, up 49.4 percent year-on-year.
Officials said that thanks to favorable policies launched by the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone located in the city, Zhoushan has built an important cluster of oil and gas industries and made the Zhoushan Port one of the world's top 10 ports for bonded fuel oil supplies.
