The International Seafarer Carnival took place in Zhoushan, in East China's Zhejiang province, on June 25, as a sideline event of the fifth China Seafarer Skills Competition held in the city at the same time.

Thirty-two foreign seamen from four local ship repair companies participated in four fun activities -- including making knots while blindfolded, throwing darts and making ship models out of white turnips.

The seamen said they had a ball. "This was my first time to participate in such an interesting activity. I hope to come to Zhoushan next time," said Indonesian seaman Ardiansyah Gassing.
