A national measurement and testing center for bulk commodity storage and transportation built in Zhoushan in East China's Zhejiang province was recently approved by the State Administration for Market Regulation.
It is the first of its kind in China's service sector, and will help foster an orderly and fair market mechanism in the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) in Zhoushan, said officials from the city's Institute of Calibration and Testing for Quality and Technology Supervision, which is in charge of building the center.
Measurement creates a foundation for international trade. More than 80 percent of global trade is fulfilled based on proper measurements.
The center will strengthen the city's measurement and testing services during the storage, transportation, trade and delivery of bulk commodities, and promote the construction of an oil and gas industrial chain in Zhejiang FTZ.
