Dongsha ancient fishing town in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, was recently selected as one of China's top 10 models for the integration of tourism and intangible cultural heritages.

The town boasts distinctive marine culture thanks to its abundant seafood and prosperous trade. It has more than 30 intangible cultural heritages, including fisherman's paintings, decorative fishing knots, and glove puppet shows.

By regularly staging performances, holding exhibitions, and setting up stores selling intangible cultural heritage artifacts, the town has managed to preserve its culture and revitalize its economy.

It's not confined to the town. The city of Zhoushan has also been committed to integrating tourism and traditional culture in recent years.

The top 10 models were selected among 150 candidates, and the selection was hosted by the newspaper China Tourism News under the guidance of the department of intangible cultural heritages of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
