Ten foreign students from the Zhejiang Ocean University in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, recently experienced local Dragon Boat Festival customs in the city's Dinghai district.

Students from Tanzania, Russia, Kazakhstan, Cambodia and Rwanda learned to make rice dumplings, sachets and decorative strings with local residents.

Zhong Weiliang, deputy director of the university's department of international exchange and cooperation, said the activity was designed to introduce Chinese culture to international students. 

"The world is one family, and Zhoushan is our second home. When I graduate, I'll bring the beautiful memory of my life here back to my hometown," said Leonard from Rwanda.
