Zhoushan in Zhejiang province held a job interview for urgently needed high-level talents on May 12. Fourteen posts were available for those selected from forty-three applicants, 22 of whom expressed an intention to work with local employers.

According to the local human resources and social security department, Zhoushan released 68 posts for urgently needed high-level global talents in March, and received resumes from more than 600 applicants, 43 of whom are qualified for an interview, who specialize mainly in finance, petrochemistry, urban construction and energy, areas closely linked with the city's current development.

The 43 applicants mostly come from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. Eighty percent of them hold a master's degree or above, and more than 20 have an educational background at world-renowned universities such as Tsinghua and Harvard. More than 10 have overseas working experience at global top 500 companies.

Zhoushan has introduced many professional talents in such key areas as environmentally-friendly petrochemistry, river-sea intermodal transport, financing and urban planning since it launched a program to introduce urgently needed high-level talents in late 2013.
