With two cameras, four microphones, a multimedia machine and a high-definition video broadcast system, students at a middle school on Taohua Island, Putuo district, Zhoushan, attended a lecture simultaneously with a class at an urban middle school in the district.
Students at the Taohua Middle School could answer questions asked by the teacher from Donggang Middle School through an electronic screen.
All of this was made possible thanks to a recent plan launched by the Putuo government to enable rural primary and middle schools to have easier access to urban educational resources via the internet.
Through synchronized lectures, rural students can attend classes, do homework and receive tutoring along with urban students and share resources.
