Daishan county in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province held its annual half marathon on April 14, attracting around 3,000 participants from all over the country.

The 2019 Daishan Coastal Cape Half Marathon features a 21-kilometer course and is the only marathon in China to run along a coastal cape.

Initiated in 2018, the event was honored by the Chinese Athletic Association as a "Characteristic Sports Event with the Most Beautiful Raceway".

Runners got to enjoy some stunning seaside scenery with plenty of beaches along the route, and were even provided with authentic local delicacies and massage services afterwards. 

Folk performances, including a dragon dance and a waist drum performance, were staged to add a bit of extra excitement.
