Dinghai district of Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province plans to carry out 16 transport infrastructure projects this year, according to the local department of transport.
The projects, worth 210 million yuan ($31.31 million), focus on the construction and renovations of highways, rural roads, tunnels, bus stations and ferry terminals.
Specifically, the district will rebuild nine kilometers of rural highways, repair 24km of pavement and set up 33 highway service stations.
A 1000-metric-ton vehicle ferry terminal, with 65 percent of the project finished, is expected to be put into operation this year in the north of the district's Damao Island.
In addition, the renovation of six tunnels and the building of 90 bus stops are projected to be completed by the year's end.
