Gaselys, a French liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker, arrived at the ENN Zhoushan LNG Import Terminal in the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone, Zhoushan, Zhejiang province, on Feb 25, the first LNG tanker received by the terminal this year.

The vessel, stretching 289.57 meters long, came from Egypt and carried around 66,230 metric tons of LNG.

The terminal, invested in by ENN Group, a privately-owned Chinese gas distributor, is China's first LNG receiving and filling station that has received investment from a private company.

It received its first LNG carrier, Stena Blue Sky, on Aug 7, 2018, and entered commercial operation on Oct 19, 2018 after two months of trials, with a capacity of handling 3 million metric tons of LNG per year.

The second phase of the terminal project started construction on Dec 25, 2018, and is projected to be completed in 2021, with capacity expected to increase to 5 million tons of LNG annually.
