Smart farmer's market opens in Zhoushan

An intelligent farmer's market recently entered trial operation in Dinghai district, Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, the first of its kind in the city.

Covering an area of over 1,500 square meters, Baiquan Farmer's Market has set up 45 stalls selling various local produce ranging from aquatic products, meat, vegetables to cooked food.

Each stall is equipped with an electronic screen displaying the operator's name, stall level, food quality, transaction QR code, and an intelligent electronic scale which generates a receipt for customers with detailed information on what they have bought.

Customers can pay for their stuff by scanning the transaction QR code on the screen, which is faster and more convenient than before.

There is wifi covering every corner of the market, and the market is equipped with air conditioning and monitoring system.

Next, the market will launch online services for customers to buy food on their mobile phones and get them delivered directly to their home.
