The annual fair held for local residents in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province to prepare and buy things for the upcoming Spring Festival closed on Jan 31, local media reported.
Opening on Jan 24, the fair was held in three locations, the New Town, Putuo district and Dinghai district, attracting more than 200,000 people to attend, with the total sales reaching 16.5 million yuan ($2.44 million), up 20 percent year on year.

The most popular goods were meat, vegetables, aquatic products and dried food, as discounts were offered by vendors to sell off their inventory before the Spring Festival.
