"Zhoushan should propel work in every aspect from a broader perspective, and with stronger determination, bigger efforts and higher standards to make new contributions to the overall development of the province," said Che Jun, Party chief of Zhejiang province on Jan 28.

Che make the remarks at a panel discussion with the Zhoushan delegation to the second session of the 13th People's Congress of Zhejiang Province held in Hangzhou.

Che highly appreciated the achievements that Zhoushan has made over the past year, and conveyed the provincial and central governments' higher expectations of the city for 2019, especially for the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ).

Zhejiang FTZ shall, as Che highlighted, promote reform and innovation, particularly system innovation, advancing administrative streamlining reform and making breakthroughs in building the green petrochemical base.

Zhoushan shall strengthen cooperation with neighboring cities such as Shanghai and Ningbo in port business and the relevant industries, to contribute to the integration of the Yangtze River Delta region.

To build a whole oil & gas industrial chain, the city shall focus on major projects in petrochemical, aviation, port and tourism industries.

It shall also improve urban planning and infrastructure, and draw experience from other advanced island cities in China, to build itself into a beautiful "Garden City on the Sea".
