Daishan county in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, has recently been focusing on boosting its private economy by addressing the practical business difficulties of its private companies.
Local authorities visited over 40 private companies in need of help in the county in November and learned about 86 difficulties they face in total, including problems of recruitment and financing and a heavy tax burden.
A clear list has been made by the local government giving an exact schedule to the units responsible for solving these difficulties, some of which are already being rectified.
For the recruitment difficulty, the human resources and social security bureau of Daishan has established a matchmaking mechanism with some of the middle and western areas of China to introduce human resources, and has built three labor cooperation bases in other provinces beyond Zhejiang province.
A series of measures to address the education difficulty of local companies' skilled workers have also been taken.
For the financing difficulty, the county's financial authorities have negotiated with local banks to lower the lending rate for some companies, and have been working on giving more subsidies to companies for business reconstruction.
"More policies and action plans will be launched to help companies solve their development problems," said a local government official, adding that the government will continue to learn about the challenges of local companies and help them achieve better performance.
