A group of 32 visitors took part in a thrilling survival adventure game held on a desert island in Putuo district, Zhoushan, from Sept 23 to 24.

The game imitated the experience of trying to survive on an unmanned island after a shipwreck.

Participants spent two days and one night isolated from the outside world, with no access to any communication device.

As part of the game, they were required to seek and decipher the information that was hidden throughout the island to obtain hidden food and other daily necessities, among other activities such as setting up a tent, making a fire for heat, and exercising first-aid outdoors.

All participants signed an agreement beforehand to shoulder the responsibility of security themselves, which added to the challenge of the game.

There were supporting staff on the island, though, to safeguard the safety of the participants, providing help only under exceptional circumstances.

This is the first time that Zhoushan authorities have held the game, which aimed to enhance people's survival skills and strengthen team spirit building among the participants.

Zhoushan boasts abundant island resources, possessing 1,390 islands in total, most of which are desert islands with unique features, making them ideal places for outdoor adventure events, according to the organizer of the game.
