The 380-meter-high power transmission tower under construction at the Cezi Island, Dinghai district, Zhoushan city, has recently entered the final stage of head installation, and its main body is expected to be complete in a week, local media reported.

The tower, currently 365 meters high, will be the highest power transmission tower in the world after it is completed.

This has been an important part of the city's 500-kilovolt power transmission project since two years ago, by the end of which we will see two of such towers being built in Zhoushan. The other one is under construction at the Jintang Island.

The project, after completion, will help meet the increasing demand of electricity for economic development in the Zhoushan Archipelago New Area under the Belt and Road Initiative, and enhance the stability of the power grid between Ningbo and Zhoushan.
