Seven market regulation units in Zhoushan have recently been authorized by the State Administration for Market Regulation to register foreign-invested enterprises (FIEs), allowing FIEs in Zhoushan but beyond the range of the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone to get registered in the areas where their companies are located. 

The units are spread in seven areas of the city, including the Dinghai district, Putuo district, Daishan county, Shengsi county, Marine Indusry Cluster Area, New Town, as well as the part of Zhujiajian Island within the Free Trade Zone. 

The move brings to an end the stipulation that required all the FIEs in Zhoushan to register with the city administrative body for market regulation, after which they also need to go to the commerce department in the area where their companies are located to seek approval or filing. 

Instead, FIEs in the seven areas can now directly get registered in those jurisdictions, where the respective units will accept the registration documents of FIEs and send the filing information to the related departments of commerce or taxation.
