Ancient handicrafts: enclosed bed with 7 curves made of bone embodied rosewood
The ancient bed made in late Qing Dynasty (AD1644-1911) is the most precious treasure in Zhoushan Museum's "century-old bed exhibition". The craftsman is unknown already, but the excellent workmanship and exquisite engraving is amazing to us.
With the roof above and below the bed is enclosed by an all-round wood screen which can be opened in one side. The bed is made of various woods and on the lintel plate engraves traditional opera characters. The color is elegantly red with the beautiful contrast between line and flat and contrasts between light and dark.
